Get ready for 2009

Right then. The only way to survive in this nightmare chaos that is being a working fabulous Mum is to GET ORGANISED!!!

Every day in our house is a well planned military operation (now stop laughing at the back, it is honestly), it has to be, with both of us working and little Miss having to get to Nursery and our Angel. Add in to this is Goth Dad's dyslexia time wandering, my last minute faffing and Little Miss' frequent refusal to put on clothes and you have a recipe for disaster if we don't get organised.

So the reason for this post is to evangelise the use of a family calendar. No more will I get confused about when that birthday party is or when Goth Dad had arranged to go out for that well earned drink.

So I would like to encourage you all to get a calendar and get organised.

A little extra help - Payday loans

OK so it’s the 22nd of April and I have £13.65 in my purse. It’s kinda OK as I don’t have any bills to pay right now. However, my car being what it is and the fates cackling at me, I just know that something is going to crop up between now and the 28th.

It’s a good job that I have discovered payday loans. I can get £80 to £750 really quickly as long as I pay it back the next pay day. I have tried to get little loans before with very little success. You just can’t get anything less than a couple of grand unless you are a member of a credit union and you have to save with them before you can borrow anything. I have been tempted by pawn brokers before but my Mum wears the only valuable piece of jewellery I own so I don’t have anything to pawn.

It is really simple to apply; you just need a bank account to put the money in and a debit card to pay the loan back on the agreed date. You just fill in the online form and it should all be done in minutes.

There is just one fixed charge (£25 per £100 borrowed) with no administration charges.

I hope I don’t need to find any extra cash before payday, but if I do I know where to go.

Sponsored content

I have recently signed this blog up to PayPerPost in order, quite frankly, to earn a little bit of money from this humble project. Fear not, however, intrepid reader this blog will not descend into a chavy advert for anything that PPP throws at me. I will remain committed to my standards and ethics of bringing the best you of Goth parenting and the weird world of Goth Mum, Mr V and Little Miss.

I found out about Pay Per Post when I was searching online about SEO and how to get more readers for this blog. I know that quality content is key to getting and keeping readers, and I am trying my best but a little inspiration about what to write about, and an introduction to some new and exciting things will be nice.

I am particularly looking forward to upping my ranking so I can start blogging about such tantalising topics as halloween costume and DIY disasters (I may share that one with you anyway) So SEO tactics at the ready and off we go into a new and exciting world of sponsored posting.

BTW I’m earmarking these to buy with my earnings. When will they be hugging my feet? We’ll have to see.

Little black dresses

I have just found Black Essentials.

Not specifically goth but some very sophisticated black clothes. They are based in Edinburgh so UK shipping won't be the usial 3 week wait followed by customs bill that we so often have from US companies.

I am particularly fond of the Black Fridalis Dress which I would quite happily wear to work and out with the family (and it would look hot with a leather waist clincher and a pair of killer heels)

I've got small boobs...

...and I find it almost impossible to find nice undies that fit and look fantastic.

Then I found Dainty Ladies and I am in tiny boobie heaven. Designed and hand made in the UK there are loads of ranges from comfy stuff to absolute stunners. I have already dropped hints for my birthday, but I may not last until then and just buy it myself.

This range is my current favourite.

So appologies to all you big girls who have underwire and serious scaffolding but today it's all about the pert little tits that could do with a bit of a hoof up.

We bought Mr V's sister the modern policing book for her birthday and the 2008 calendar is counting down the days to the disertation hand in on the study wall.

Will Smith - What a man!

I watched The Pursuit of Happyness on Tuesday. I'm off work at the moment with a bad back so took the opportunity to watch a chick flick with out Mr V tutting from the other end of the sofa. I haven't cried so much for months, it is totally in league with Romeo & Juliet and Moulin Rouge (Baz Lurman always makes me cry). Unfortunately, it pushes all the parenting buttons.

There is this one scene where they are spending the night in a subway station bathroom and little Christopher is asleep in his Dad's lap and Will Smith is just sitting there with tears running down his face as someone bangs on the door. It's making me cry now just to think of it. The things that they did together and the strength of their relationship was amazing.

Anyway the real point of this blog was something that Will Smith said on one of the extras. He talked about how he had to run like his Dad in the film (you can see his running in the trailer below)

This was compared HUGELY by Bad Boys II on Channel 5 last night. I think I prefer the Dad version of Wil Smith. I may be getting a bit old now *wibble*

Anyway, you can see The pursuit of Happyness, Bad Boys or any other film you fancy for free on Love DVD (click below) so enjoy, cry your eyes out.

I've got no time for a little light reading...

So I'm going to listen instead. I spend enough time in the car over the course of the week with my trusty MP3 player so I may as well make good use of the time.

I thought I would start with these...

I haven't seen the film yet, I much prefer to read the book first. I'll let you know how it goes on.

Bedtime Stories

The UK Government is urging parents to read to their children (read the BBC news item here) well duh! We've been reading to little miss since before she was born (ok that may have been a slight exageration). My Mum read to me and guess I just carried on the trend.

Our current favourite is Peter Rabbit and we read it EVERY night. However, we have been through... The Gruffalo , The Smartest Giant in Town and Where's my Cow? among others.

My childhood favourite was The Owl that was afraid of the Dark

I loved it because it made the night seem so cool. Very Goth in the making *chuckle*. There is a very battered copy on her bookcase and I'm hoping she wants to read it soon.

Too young?

Is 2 and a half too young to learn how to play the guitar? Maybe I should start her on a set of Maraccas!
